Background

For every woman who commit suicide there are three men. From 2003-2013, the suicide rate i Denmark decreased with 28 %. Among men aged 40-59 years the decline is only 7 %. It is important to examine the risk and the protective factors for suicidal behaviour for men aged 40-59 years.

Purpose

The purpose is to examine protective and risk factors for suicide and suicide attempts among men aged 40-59 years.

Method

Questionnairesurvey among men aged 40-59 years.
